This Advent hymnal combines ancient melodies, new four-part harmonies, and chorales of J. S. Bach in one volume. It is the first hymnal in a series. Centered around principles of Catholic theology, inspiration was taken from some of the rarest and highest-quality collections of the 18th, 19th, and early 20th centuries, which are from several denominational origins. Ancient Latin hymn texts are included with poetic English translations, both languages being set to the music and typeset for ease of singing. This softcover version will be more easily handled for choral use, while the coil-bound version is ideal for accompaniment.
