Information Searching and Behavior

We are now living in an age of knowledge and information explosion. “Information” is one of the basic resource’s indispensables for development in all important spheres of life of a civilized society. Information is universal - it is known to all men in all languages, a language may or may not have a precise or appropriate word to describe the word 'information' but it certainly is. The purpose of research is to solve problems. However, information is needed to solve problems. No rational development program can be fully successful without proper information base. As a result, information is being recognized as a national resource. In some developed countries, it is considered fundamental as energy or matter that affects various aspects of human activity. We talk about information, we seek information, we exchange information, and we pay for information. Ironically, despite our familiarity with the information, we were unable to properly define the term.
