a fictional memoir about the societal cost of lawful prejudice.
Lawful prejudice is introduced as a richer, deeper, and for these, better characterization of what it means to be wearing "blinders," not "seeing the forest from the trees," nor thinking "out of the box."
This epic tale in verse is also about the scarcity of markets for solutions to social problems.
And, finally, the author postulates, the United States government, on domestic matters, works at the margin of society and, as such, is not nearly as significant a factor for our nation's prosperity as the popular media leads us to believe.
