My first entry is titled “Topspin.” The poem is written about a point between two tennis players. I’d like to think the player that wins the point is me. I wrote this poem because I had to persevere through troubling times and prove that my hardwork would pay off. The reader should learn that the point won in the poem was due to the work done behind the scenes where no one is watching. The second entry is titled “Bored of Being Bored.” The poem is about a child who performs a deviant act when finding something to do. The moral of the story is that we do things we shouldn’t do when we are bored. The third entry is titled “The Prince of Vrovriel.” The story is written about a prince who before had no real responsibilities and will have to face the challenge of leading a war. I thought of my childhood when writing this story. My father passed away when I was ten years of age. I had to take on responsibilities that a ten year old isn’t expected to. The reader should learn that they should prepare themselves for anything that comes their way and to overcome adversity. My final entry is titled “Stitch.” The story is about an adopted boy who lives with entrepreneur and capitalist parents. He secretly spends much of his time away from home and comes across a mysterious coat. He finds out the truth of his family through the mysterious coat he discovers at a flea market. I wrote this story thinking about someone who was manipulative and became the inspiration for the story. The reader should learn that things aren’t always as it seems and some things are too good to be true.
