Mrs Bartlett and Her Bible Class at the Metropolitan Tabernacle

When Lavinia Bartlett took on the small girls’ Bible Class in her church to cover an absent teacher for just a few weeks, she could not have imagined that it would become her life’s work and calling. The class quickly grew with attendances increasing to several hundred each week. Many of the young women taught by her were converted and joined the church. As a result of the size of the class and the many girls saved, Mrs Bartlett’s Bible Class became renowned. Her passion for souls, straightforward gospel reasoning, prayer and devotion to her girls were used by God and are an example for us to follow.
