The Promise World is a collection of fourteen story-style poems about extreme journeys and represents a hybrid of philosophical sci-fi and literary exploration. The main poems include "Selling the House," which imagines an intractable tragedy in a world where old age no longer kills and super-families are the basic unit of society. "Sailing Around the World" traces the story of a non-stop circumnavigator. "Lighthouse Journals" pursues a decades-long story of isolation and mystical transformation. "Machinopolis" is a story of escape from dystopia into a unlimited wilderness. "The Mistake," follows the mystery of a extraordinary child across centuries of troubled times.
