In the relatively short adaptation of "King Lear" by William Shakespeare the proud Queen Lear violates the order of the Universe with her wish to prematurely divide the kingdom among her three daughters. She is naive and becomes infatuated by the flattery of her two conceiving daughters and stays blind to their hypocrisy. Her two advisories make efforts to open her eyes to the truth. Cordelia is banned from the palace and the sisters gain control. The parallel plot involves Edmund's horrid scheme and, eventually, his failure to harm his half-brother Edgar. Edgar puts on his 'antic disposition' in order to stay alive. The aim of this adaptation, which can be played even by young actors, and moreover by young learners, is to shed some light on the basic human desires and offer a more felicitous ending.
