This is Part One of a free translation of Don Quijote in Friulan. To more thoroughly enjoy the book, the reader is encouraged to spend a bit of time in learning Friulan, a language that, had it not been for a few unavoidable accidents of history, might have become a universal language. It is nevertheless true that later in life Miguel de Cervantes regretted not having used Friulan for the immortalization of his hero instead of the lowly Spanish.
