Increasing biodiversity in the Mediterranean Sea through floating landscapes as bird species incubators at the estuary of the Ebro Delta
_
Estuaries in the Mediterranean coast are defined through the conjunction of two different ecosystems providing the ground for rich biodiversity. The steady cutback of these areas threatens the breeding areas of migrating bird species. Bio-dynamic Ecologies provides an infrastructure of islands for the creation of artificial habitats following the characteristics of delta areas.
The proposal investigates on the potential of the dynamics of the sea surface by harvesting the wave’s energy and by using it as an input for seasonal changes in the topography of the artificial islands.
