Personal Anthology

A tale of a foreign land with outsiders, studying a famous author, telling the true story of what it is like to be a woman, and a story with nostalgia. All of these different stories are included in this short ebook. The first story follows the tale of young Auryn, a hybrid human-fairy that lives in the Land of Cora. One day, she is rudely awakened by terrible news. Their home is being invaded by outsiders, who presumably want to take over. Luckily, they have a team of highly trained warriors at their disposal. Unfortunately, the land warriors had never fought anyone before and were raised peacefully. Will the land be invaded, or will another solution arise? Next, we look at the study of the English author, Matt Haig. Matt Haig is the author of the famous novels, The Midnight Library and Reasons to Stay Alive, and the movie adaptation of The Boy Called Christmas. Haig is an esteemed author and mental health advocate who gained popularity in the early 2000s and has written more than 10 books, for children and adults. This study looks at his books, style, personal thoughts about writing, and my personal connection with one of his books. I have written a poem about what it means to be a woman. A short 20-line excerpt from my thoughts about growing up as a woman: I have read and researched other poems from women about life and continued to ask others how they feel. This poem is important to me because it really made me feel like I could express myself and explain my opinion. Finally, the last story is a short piece written with a twist that might surprise you. There isn’t much to say about it without giving everything away. This was one of the first pieces I wrote and is to the point. This story is a quick read and very enjoyable.
