EXPERIENCES IN LABORATORIES

In this book we will explain what a laboratory is, the types that exist and their work areas, as well as the day-to-day management of the laboratories where I have been, what type of tests are carried out, materials used and samples received, etc., since They all do not work the same way. Although they have very similar purposes, we will see the different types of samples that arrive at the laboratory and how they are separated correctly to be able to process them once they arrive at the laboratory and to what area they are taken to perform the different tests. In this document we will lay down the foundation of some of the analytical techniques performed, how they are performed, the materials necessary to carry them out, and the results thereof. Finally, we will expose the differences of private, public and research laboratories, since despite being laboratories, they do not perform the same tests or are organized in the same way, since both private and public laboratories work with patient samples, to determine an analyte and be able to issue a result, to diagnose, prevent and monitor the patient. While in the research laboratory what is carried out is an investigation about a new pathology and / or technique, so that in the future the quality of the techniques can be improved, the evolution of a pathology improved, etc. For the entire laboratory to function properly, whether clinical or research, and errors do not occur with the samples received, everything must be well identified, in case there is any type of problem, it can be corrected through the traceability of the sample, which, It is not only useful in case one of the samples is lost or simply to know why the device is passing, but also for its conservation, since a poorly preserved, sent, collected sample cannot be processed and if it is processed, the The results will be unfeasible, thus giving a wrong diagnosis to the patient.
