In the workbook, 'Wise Owl's First Phonics and First 100 Sight Words", consonant digraphs and consonant blends are introduced in Lessons 32 and 33. For some children, more practice is needed. "Wise Owl's Consonant Digraphs and Blends" will help the child to hear the consonant digraph or blend in a clue picture, associate the letters that go together to write that sound and ultimately to sound out words that contain it. The workbook goes slowly at first, with the introducing of each consonant digraph, separately. For example, when teaching 'sh' the students are first asked to distinguish between the sound that 's' makes alone, /s/ and the sound that it makes when it's next to an 'h', /sh/. There is a chart, that goes along with these lessons, included. Also, there are directions at the beginning of the workbook.
