The New Mandate

The novel is set in at future time following a global disaster. A feminine hierarchy rules a country that has partially survived. The rulers have established a political system of gender apartheid. All intimate forms of contact between men and women are forbidden. The role of men (who are in a minority) is one of servitude, brutality and ignorance. The novel follows the lives of four main characters. A young man and woman who embark, with dire consequences, on an illegal love affair and two men who are endeavouring to foment a revolution. It is a novel of suspense and intrigues with a unique appraisal of the roles of men and women especially their emotional interdependence.
