It started slowly, but an ever-increasing percentage of animals are falling victim to a virulent disfiguring plague. The sickness, whatever its cause, threatens Earth's food supply and begins to affect humans. Taking advantage of the international turmoil, a rebellious zealot hopes to use the epidemic as a distraction for his attack against the people of the Western world.
