A short history of the Leannan River Valley during the winter of 1880/81. A Canadian journalist travels amongst the people of the valley and records their hardships and sufferings. Her readers at home in Canada and the United States eagerly await her reports on the trials and tribulations of their loved ones back home in Ireland. This was a time of hunger and land wars with many more forced to emigrate and cross that 'bridge of tears' never to return to their homeland again.
