The Viper Throne

When Denargle's father dies, a secret agreement with a venerable ruler propels Denargle on a mission to save the world. His task is nothing more or less than to visit the seat of all evil, observe the making of a weapon of unimaginable destruction, and return to describe the process. He takes with him a tormentor of stone in his stomach given to him by his mother and a special piece of cloth around his chest given to him by his father. Two unlikely strangers join him along the way, and they must fight a naval battle of tri-marans and seakites, survive a distastrous lunar gossamer launch, vanquish a dreaded Retsnom in an underground lake, and duel with the devil on top of a snake idol made of stone.
