Excuse me, I’m Asian is a series of short essays discussing and confirming or debunking Asian American stereotypes. Originally conceived in the sophomore year of the author’s high school career, the original text of the book (section I in this edition) exemplifies an Asian American teenager’s attempt to explain his identity and where he comes from. In this revised edition, author George Chen re-examines ideas from the first edition with a more scholarly approach. Using case studies and research compiled from ethnic studies conducted in the last five years, Excuse Me I’m Asian provides an up to date analysis of Asian American identity today.
