In contrast to George Orwell’s original work 1984, the following economic PARODY is intended as a philosophical attack on Fabian socialism and its long-term economic goals (e.g., nationalized health care & more intrusive government regulation) -of which I am staunchly opposed. 2084 considers a future world in which capitalist Americans have willingly abandoned God and their Inalienable rights in order to obtain the “protection” of socialism. The illustrated socialist state is managed under a single political party system led by an apparently wise and benevolent leader who promotes the “cradle-to-the-grave” socialism. It is set in a post-hegemonic America (referred to as “Amerika”) in order to demonstrate the inevitable devastating effects of abandoning American exceptionalism in the foolhardy pursuit of “pacifistic appeasement” and “progressivism.” As many great thinkers have noted previously (and I will argue throughout), “the path to hell is paved with good intentions.”
