It's the 1970s. Wilson Pressley is in a zoo in Scotland. At least they pay him a salary to promote it. But something's wrong. Some of the animals don't always remain behind bars. And his love-life is going nowhere. Besides, there's something calling him. It's to do with the sea, or at least being able to navigate. Except that he can't see that yet.
Firmly rooted in the landscapes of Scotland, especially the sands and sea-spray of the east coast, Dogskin Boy suggests that what we remember from childhood, what we are told, and even what we dream, can sometimes blend together.
