This is a story based in South London about a semi-nomadic family who arrived in South London around 1850. It describes the impact of legislation and changes in lifestyle from famine to plenty, through two world wars and into post war Britain. It tracks the loss of communal identity and the breakdown of the extended family. It is an attempt to preserve family memory and philosophy before the old ones are lost to us. It is our family's oral tradition and memory recorded for future generations.
