This is the illustrated equivalent of Souls in Transit Arabic, text-only and Souls in Transit Hebrew, text-only both of which are Black & White and therefore under $10. [I must apologise for the shocking price of books with coloured illustrations, but somehow the photographs lack warmth and authentic sense of place without their colour.] The book attempts to engage the reader, tapping in to that type of 'practical' mercy[forgiveness] that religions often talk about but rarely practice in real life. It deals with cultural adaptation to a secular [but by no means religiously barren]western environment, seeking to find common ground for interfaith respect and goodwill, and does not resile from frank discussion of emotive and controversial issues.
[The bridge which joins personal psychology with group perceptions/attitudes and relationship dynamics, is the relatively recent branch of counselling called family therapy.]
