The Wordless Comic Book Challenge An Activity Book For The Funny In You For the writer in you that wants to control how the story goes and how it ends, the new wordless comic book is a creation that starts with a blank storybook board page to help you develop the stories within. There are 50 stories in total, one per page. It is suggested that the writer view each entire page of pictures before entering words into the blank boxes next to each scene. The creative mind will come up will many ideas for each page. Each idea must fit into the scenario of that page before moving on to developing the story board line. Next you will be ready to create a story board line for each page. They can be altered later but are important to have before beginning the project. Take one story at a time and complete one story board at a time before moving on to the next one. To help you with this task, ask your self “What does each picture have in common?” Then note in your head, the characters speaking in each scene. Once you have done that, put your clever hat on and image the funniest words that could possibly be put into the word boxes, while keeping character association as a priority in your mind. This may not be an easy chore at the beginning but once you reach the end of the book, your mind should automatically focus on the story and what needs to be said to get the interest of the reader. Once the first story is successfully completed, you will be ready to take on the task of completing the entire Wordless Comic Book Challenge, Part One of this book. No one will judge this challenge and it’s up to you if you ever want to share it with any one. If you decide to make it a group activity, then simply trace the word boxes on a white sheet of paper and attach them to the images before entering words. This will allow you to use the book over and over or challenge your friends to join in the activity while creating a fun game for all participants. The boxes will then remain un-worded on the original book pages for the sake of preservation. Have fun with it and let’s start your first story board with enthusiasm and an open mind.
