L'ONDA (for SSATB choir, unaccompanied)
by Giuseppe Di Bianco
Lyrics by Gabriele D'Annunzio (1902)
In a poem contained in the famous collection "Alcyone" (1903), the Italian poet Gabriele D'Annunzio described the movement of the sea wave in its visual and sound form. The roar of the wave, the lapping, its slow bubbling, and finally its blatant crash on the shore become a symphony through D'Annunzio's verses that give us back all the intensity of the marine scenario.
