Phantom No More: Karima

There have been many spin-offs from the original Phantom of the Opera novel by Gaston Leroux. Most of them involve the characters of Erik and Christine, some taking a new spin on their story, some picking up where the original story left off, some creating entirely new characters in new locations. While I do enjoy the alternative Erik and Christine stories, especially when they end up together in a nice happily-ever-after scenario, what if Erik had never met Christine? This is not a phantom novel. Erik does not become the phantom in my story. This is Erik’s alternative reality, what might have been, if one person had crossed his path many years before the phantom story even began…..
