On January 18, 2010, Greg Cohoon heard the White Stripes song "Seven Nation Army" on the radio and was inspired to write a silly haiku. After writing that haiku, he endeavored to write at least one haiku every day for the rest of the year. This book is the result of that project. Some days he forgot to write a haiku. Other days, he wrote more than one. All told, this volume contains 377 haiku.
Most of the haiku are silly. Some readers will challenge whether or not they are truly haiku. They are not in Japanese (although one is in Spanish, see April 2). For the most part, they do not focus on nature, although some of them do. Several of the included haiku have won Internet popularity awards. For the most part, the haiku reflect on what otherwise might be considered mundane observations of daily life. Pop culture, technology, family, friends, faith, and travel are all represented here.
