Soul Decisions - Five Different Stories

The wind blew in Stygian rain clouds, deep and gray. They over ran the skies like floating mountains, and as they rolled along, they carried the thunder with them. Their throaty omniscience, with the darkness, was like a prelude to the apocalypse. Steve headed to a phone booth he recalled on a corner not far from the raunchy motel where he currently rested his head. Once inside it, he felt that it looked like a tiny museum to old tech. Steve entered it just before the deluge of rain began to beat down hard on everything. So hard, the large heavy rain drops bounced up at least half an inch off everything flattish that it hit, but the pitter-patter sound was comforting, and he felt temporarily protected in the booth. He searched his pockets for change while simultaneously checking the cost to make the call. He remembered the last time he had used a phone booth as a kid it was like a couple quarters. But when he looked and saw it was a dollar fifty for a local call, he grudged using the few coins he had left.
