MR. J. QUINCY MAGOO (Yes- that's his full name) is the near-sighted, lovable-yet-stubborn retiree who began appearing in cartoons in 1949, and before long was a movie, television and comic book star, too. In the comics the well-known MAGOO was often joined in comic books by GERALD McBOING BOING, a toddler who spoke using only sound effects. Although GERALD McBOING BOING was sometimes the title character, it was MR. MAGOO who drew the readers and whose character is still known and lover today.
