It Rhymes With Lust
Gwandanaland Comics #1388 - The First Modern Graphic Novel - A Matt Baker Masterpiece (1950)
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
“The baldheaded conductor cleared his throat and shouted: 'all off for Copper City!' Hal Weber tugged nervously at his hat brim, picked up his battered suitcase, stepped off the 3:14 Express and onto a wild, dangerous merry-go-round of bullets and embraces.
“Follow him as he weaves through a tangled net of double-cross, dynamite and disaster with a woman who bartered torrid kisses for his soul, a man who spoke with a .38 automatic, and a girl in whose shining eyes he saw reflected the tattered rags of his conscience.”
Although the name would not be coined officially for nearly three decades, while there had certainly been illustrated stories in the past, IT RHYMES WITH LUST was the first marriage of two popular mediums: the novel, and the still young comic book. Penciled by master Matt Baker, it is not only a fantastic read, but real part of comic history!
This version reprints the pages using a color process, which presents the artwork in a sepia tone with tinted pages. An economical B&W version is also available (#1388-A).
