Planet Stories: Volume 1
Gwandanaland Science-Fiction Library #34 - Golden Age Pulp Classics - The Companion Series to Planet Comics
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
Fiction House had been well-established as a publisher of pulps, mostly detective and romance, in the 1930s, but its heyday (1939-1955) truly began when in the span of a year they released Jungle Stories, Jungle Comics, Planet Stories and Planet Comics – the last three almost simultaneously. In the science-fiction genre, the Golden Age was underway and Fiction House provided some of the best stories month after month. Some of the notable authors whose work appeared in PLANET STORIES were Ray Bradbury (including an early Martian Chronicles story), Leigh Brackett, Isaac Asimov, and the first published work of pioneer Philip K Dick. PLANET STORIES ran for 71 exciting issues, just two short of its sister magazine, PLANET COMICS, and cementing Fiction House as a Golden Age master!
