The early 1950s was the heyday of classic crime stories. Everyone wanted to know about the dark underbelly of the streets, the world of gangsters and gun molls, of killers and con-men. It was also the dawn of vintage mystery and horror, the world of mysticism and monsters, of suspense and the supernatural. CRIME MYSTERIES was a perfect hybrid of both genres, where hard-fisted detectives shared the pages with monster-makers and mystic masters. This great series ran for 15 issues at RIBAGE as CRIME MYSTERIES (and from #7-on was “Combined with CRIME SMASHERS”, a recently-cancelled series) then was retitled SECRET MYSTERIES for three issues (#16-18) to reflect it's evolution more toward the unusual, until it finally moved to MERIT for one more issue (#19). We consider these issues to all be part of the same series, and so we've gathered all for you in two amazing volumes!
