Harvey Butaleon Degree Sr. has mixed Christian Praise and Poetry together to give thanks to my mother Margie Louise Wallace Degree who taught me to write, draw, to color, and to read when I was four years old. This was before mama had my ten other brothers and sisters, thus the stress of heavy responsibility. “My mama left a strong impression on me,” said Harvey Degree. “That as a parent and role model, not only do I teach my children, but my children’s children, and their children’s children after that.
