Yesternight's Dawn

ByHelen M. Hiner

Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
When Beth learned of her husband’s newest deployment she understood her family would, again, endure the extended separation and sacrifice all too familiar to those serving in the military. How might she minimize the impact of yet another change for her two small children – Tamara and Danny? Could the children better cope with their father’s absence by spending a few months with “Grandmommy” and “Gwan’po”? Beth decided the best action was to take the children to her parent’s western Nebraska home to ride out the emotional highs and lows she knew were coming while her husband served his military duty in the United States Army. Life for all five members of the extended family was about to become anything but routine. All would experience hopeful anticipation along with crushing disappointments while doing their best to patiently wait until, once again, their army sergeant husband/father/son-in-law returned from his post to make their family whole.
