Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
Dorothy is a second year goose on her return migration to Canada when a rogue spring ‘nor-easter’ forces her to land on a small mill pond in an idyllic New England town. There she meets Gus, a lone and worldly gander, and after a short courtship they decide to mate and raise a brood in this seeming paradise. All is not tranquil though, as Dorothy and Gus have to co-exist with humans, battle predators and educate their goslings about the world as they grow to maturity. The story is colored with many references to New England fokelore, music, literature and history. When humans interfere with the natural rhythm of Mother Nature’s laws governing geese, the true nature of the pond is revealed and Dorothy must decide which law to obey. The Mill Pond tells how she struggles to resolve the unnatural dilemma leveled on her.
