High Stakes

Mark Thomas is a screw salesman with a gambling addiction, huge debts, and a tendency to suffer weird dreams. With loan sharks closing in on him, his girlfriend gone, and his life spiralling out of control, he is made an offer that promises an end to his misery. He is set a simple challenge: one day to make a name for himself. One day to get his name on the next day’s evening news bulletin. If he succeeds, his debts will be wiped. If he doesn’t, then all debts will have to be settled. But the man setting the challenge has no intention of letting Mark win, wracked by unfulfilled desires, haunted by his past, and thirsting for revenge. With Mark determined to succeed, he heads to London with a plan, and amidst a city dominated by electioneering and fears of terrorism, sets off a series of events that will change lives forever.
