His journey through expensive boarding schools describes something essentially British – ‘painful' but, for him, enjoyable. Then, from sleeping rough in Railway-stations, he rises to become a successful businessman and attains a family with six young children. He then decides to move to France in his Château. Was this the beginning of the evil set against him? Book 2 explains.
