Ignatius Loyola Donnelly (November 3, 1831 – January 1, 1901) served as an American Congressman and gained recognition as a populist writer. Donnelly's roots traced back to Ireland, from both sides, making him a true Oceanic, and hence a legitimate author in our publishing house.
Numerous contemporary notions about Atlantis draw inspiration from the theories presented in Ignatius Donnelly's work. These include concepts such as a highly advanced civilization with technology ahead of its time, the proposed origins of all existing races and civilizations, and a narrative of a significant civil war between forces of good and evil. Donnelly's exploration of Atlantis, particularly in connecting ancient civilizations of the Old and New Worlds, was strongly influenced by the writings of Charles Étienne Brasseur de Bourbourg and the fieldwork conducted by Augustus Le Plongeon in the Yucatan. This perspective found enthusiastic support in publications by Helena Blavatsky and the Theosophical Society, as well as in the works of Rudolf Steiner.
