Ludo's Wilderness

The story of a born adventurer from the Netherlands and his lifelong quest to become a missionary to China. With unyielding determination, Fr Ludo pursued his dream through the battlefields of Europe during WWII and straight into the face of China's "Cultural Revolution" where is was not a good place to be a Westerner - especially a Catholic priest. Communist radicals pursued Fr Ludo onto the last open runway in Peking where a military transport awaited the gentle priest under a hail of enemy fire. Fr Ludo accepted his fate into the turbulent skies over China with the same nonchalance he would display donning his priestly vestments preparing for The Sacrament. From trekking across Europe and the Steppes of Mongolia to occupying a drafty lean-to makeshift rectory during -50 F weather in Canada, and confronting heavily armed Penitentes in New Mexico, Father Ludo faced incredible challenges, not the least of which emanating from The Church itself.
