After Jakob Lorber, the Divinely gifted Styrian mystic of the 19th century (1800-1864), Gottfried Mayerhofer (1807-1877) in Trieste was one of the first to hear the 'Inner Word' within himself and to write down what he heard for his contemporaries and posterity.
These messages covers many subjects and were not only applicable to Mayerhofer's immediate small circle of friends and family, but Jesus expressly said that these messages are also - and some, especially - meant for later generations, making these a very valuable resource for anyone who are seeking with the heart.
Gottfried Mayerhofer received the Inner Word from the Lord Jesus in separate message-format from 1870-1877. Previous publishers of Mayerhofer's books separated these messages into themes and published it as separate books, known as 'Secrets of Life', 'Secrets of Creation'. 'Festive Garden' and 'Sermons of the Lord'. With this separation, confusion would ensue where Jesus refer back to or follow up on a previous message, which has been separated into another book-volume. In this version therefore, the separated volumes mentioned above, has been re-incorporated into the original document, in order to restore the original and date-chronological format. The division of the messages of this version into multiple volumes, is solely practical, to help the reader to not have to handle oversized books. The 'Sermons of the Lord' form by themselves a beautiful and cohesive unit and stood independently even in the original document, so these made sense to remain in a separate book. In the message of March 15, 1872, Jesus calls these messages 'Flowers of grace' - hence the name for these volumes.
