Broken Chains

Set in the romantic time of the American Civil War, young Charlotte Sanxay is swept into the tumultuous times of war. In an exciting and unbelievable adventure, she is abruptly taken from her life of leisure and wealth, into a world of despair and fear. When a young fugitive slave saves her from marauders, she is torn between love and racism. Her old life is broken into pieces, as she tries breaking chains that have never been broken before. Along her journey, barriers are placed before her every step of the way, as she pushes to go beyond them to find what she believes in.
