When you compare the state of the world today with how it was sixty years ago, you realize that nothing has really changed. It seems as if no one has bothered to address the world's real problems. There are a few people who care, but they have little power and probably hold unproductive ideas. Wars, the scourge of humanity, continue to rage on this planet. It's not that ordinary people are in favor of war. Those who decide to engage in conflicts, whether their own or others', are a very small minority. As a minority, they led entire populations to their deaths. However, the people themselves longed for peace because human nature has always been about living in harmony with one another. Even in the area of homelessness, which used to be decried as vagrancy, not much has changed over the years. Although many cities organized soup kitchens and emergency shelters, these were only a drop in the bucket when it came to providing a dignified life. There were no big ideas that solved the problem of homelessness once and for all. Even more serious were the shortcomings in the fight against drugs. The excesses that developed over more than half a century were so serious that everyone feared their children would come into contact with drugs. The usual narcotics were not the only substances available; many new types of synthetic recreational drugs came onto the market. A lack of rigorous drug control prevented real progress. In my opinion, all politicians, including local ones, should be ashamed for failing to solve their citizens' most fundamental problems, or for solving them inadequately. Those who had a say simply turned away and continued to sleep. It's inefficient help at the highest level. Often, they also enriched themselves, making their own goals more important than those of marginalized groups in society. So why did they go into politics? To be in the limelight for a few years? To be figures of fun without making a difference? They failed to realize that life is just a journey during which nothing can be possessed forever. Human rights should apply to everyone. The integrity of the body must always be regarded as the highest good. This includes hygiene, sufficient food, and comfortable accommodations. These basic rights are sometimes disregarded because people often don't care how marginalized groups in our society are living.
