35 years ago, I published a collection of essays as “Songs My Father Never Sang.” While I aimed that book towards my children, I hoped my view of ‘how the world is’ would be more widely embraced, but found few consonant souls. Bacon reminds that what we call truth is what we prefer. Over the decades, I continued to write, ideas I preferred, essays emphasizing theories developed during this interval, and offering them to www.academia.edu. These essays grew from the Samsara of my daily life. Many are deeply philosophical reflecting a renewed interest in philosophy. Some react to what I foresee as dangerous pathways the world is following. Others are, hopefully, whimsical and ironic. They will add to my sons’ understanding of their bewildered father. This is my literary self-portrait
