John 14-15’s “abide in Jesus the Vine” picture provides far more insight into our special life in Him than believers today normally see in John’s Gospel and 1John. God commands and calls His children to abide in Jesus, to stay or continue or live in a love-life and obedient close fellowship with God as Jesus lived on earth. Not realizing what John and 1John truly say has weakened our personal and corporate life and growth in God. Part of our lost content today has come from not seeing much of 1John’s evidence that 1John is a promised follow up to John 13-16. Another key issue has caused most believers to not see “abide in the Vine” in John’s books outside of John 15: not seeing how he used the Greek conjunction “ina” in about 25 of his 213 ina’s. 24 of these 25 are distinct from his other ina’s, both in their standard meaning and how I see John used ina, but I find abundant evidence in John, 1John, and 2John that the standard “add-on-meaning” has lost a significant part of John’s true content in these Bible books. This book’s Part 1 helps us see how ina as "so that" shows 25 vital outcomes connected to their key SOURCES by ina. Unfulfilled SOURCES show why most believers have not fully moved into these 25 desired outcomes. “So that” for these 25 ina’s can show us how much vital content has been removed by their usual translation as “that” (or rarely “to” in an infinitive, or equivalents like a colon in some less literal translations). Most of these 25 key ina’s refer to one SOURCE (God) of one projected outcome. This outcome is fruits of tangible love and goodness that God uniquely produces in a believer’s life as he/she receives God’s specific leadings. John 14-15 and 1John show that all of the following truly are one source: God-the-Son-Vine-Jesus Himself in John 14-15, God or Jesus in 1John, Jesus’ command “abide in Me” and its Vine-picture in John 15, and His or our obedient 2-way love-life with God in John 14-15 and 1John 4-5. This book shows that 1John repeatedly used the comprehensive “abide in Me” command, but normally today it is thought to be “love” without considering this well justified alternative. Part 2 is written for those who want to further examine and test my or anyone’s claim for the way(s) John truly used ina. Part 2 includes all 213 ina’s by John and their extensive evidence for his true use of ina.
