The Poly and Anna

For all its shortcomings, the Polytechnic was a rest from home and when Anna returned for her second year it felt as though she'd never been away. However, the next day, when she and her friend Susan went to enrol they found out that nothing was the same. The task of organising the course had been passed on to the Polytechnic's temperamental mainframe computer and it wasn't doing a good job of it. Worse than that, none of the lecturers saw anything wrong in the syllabus it produced. However they did see a problem with Susan and Anna questioning them going along with computer's interpretation of the course and with the fact that they wouldn't just let it lie.
