The scouts of Thuringi have established an outpost for the future arrival of the beleaguered survivors of their world. In the second book of the Flight of the Armada series, Brent remains on Earth to man the outpost while the other five scouts return to the Thuringi armada to report on their work. As Brent faces loneliness, self-doubt and a dangerous threat to Earth by other alien visitors, Stuart returns to an unhappy marriage, Gareth and Carrol face the disapproval of tradition-bound Elders, and Darien is attracted to Glendon's daughter.
