During the last few decades we have seen a steady decline in Christianity in America. Though attendance numbers have remained level and giving seems to be "up", a closer look reveals overall marketshare to be decreasing and giving barely keeping up with inflation. The fact is that the church is in decline, and one of the main reasons is that it started trying to Control the religious marketplace rather than Compete in it.
