When friends are hard to find and heroes are the thing of fantasies and fairytales, Kayla has to make her own. Caught between love, lies and the desire to self destruct she has to find the courage to believe she’s worth more. Will she find her own inner hero, or will it all go horribly wrong? Dealing with medical and family issues are two things seventeen year old Kayla has learned to do well, but add a single new element to the mix and her world suddenly spirals out of control. Having been a "disabled child" all of her life, making the transition to "mature girlfriend" was harder than she expected.
