East to West is a stage play written in rhymed poetry. It tells the story of two women living on opposite side of London, Asha and Nell, whose worlds entwine when they match on a dating app. As each deals with the respective challenges of migration, chronic illness and urban isolation, struggling to establish themselves in a complex political climate, a new connection adds a spark of hope. They dare to wonder: is there a chance that this one might be better? Brought to life for the first time in February 2026 by an entirely queer female and nonbinary cast and crew, East to West explores some of the barriers to belonging faced by young adults in contemporary London. It celebrates the possibility and joy of embracing one's true self, and daring to step away from the comfort zone of numbing screens and social media and into the warmth of each other's care.
