The Blue Egg

The people are bound in obedience by ancient rules. From the time when babies are presented to the light, their lives go through the measured steps laid down in the scrolls. They move about by daylight. Respecting the power of the Lord of Darkness they keep the nightly curfew. Fear of the unknown keeps them near the city walls. When they die they lie on the shelves of the dead, where their ancestors lay. The scroll states that while the Queen lives all will be well.
