A reject of genetic artists searches for meaning in a futuristic world. In the mid 22nd century, genome design is rampant. Using DNA for a canvas, rogue scientists compete to create exotic new species in the demand of a global black market. Profits are huge, but from time to time a rare mistake is born for whom there is no buyer. These unfortunate persons - if not killed outright - are sent to orphanages, work farms, or abandoned in the streets. This is the story of one such reject and how he rises out of poverty, seeks for love and happiness, and comes to understand what it really means to be a human being. [The style is purposely broken and simple to reflect the voice of the narrator.]
