He lived to show us the kind of life we were born to live, to show us what "normal Christianity" really is. Of course, through the ages, Jesus' legacy has been reformed and replaced, piece by piece, until it has become what it is today: something quite different.
When we say we’re a Christian, what are we saying? How do we define what it means? Perhaps we should give up our "good Christian lives," and follow Jesus.
